The Donor Testing Laboratory at Hoxworth Blood Center seeks four (4) Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) within the department. This position performs routine and complex quality control testing of blood and blood components, as well as high-level evaluation, review and interpretation of test results. The candidate of choice shall be able to perform with minimal supervision, be proficient in computerized data entry and retrieval functions, and communicate effectively with individuals within and outside the department. On-call rotation for weekends and holidays is required.
The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS), or equivalent biological science. Current certification or eligibility to be certified as a MT or MLS by the American Association of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent certification is required. Other desirable candidates may possess a Bachelor of Science degree and HEW certification as a Medical Technologist with a minimum of two (2) years related experience; or MLT with certification and a minimum of three (3) years related experience.
