Our Core Lab
applies its knowledge of the mechanisms of disease to diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. Research, education, and clinical activities are conducted in cooperation with other clinical departments, the Shock Trauma Center, and the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The successful Supervisor, Core Lab
candidate under general direction of management, supervise and coordinate daily functions and activities in the clinical Core laboratory. Ensures the provision of laboratory services to meet the needs of patients as ordered by medical staff and performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices, as well as, regulations stipulated by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act.

What You Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent is required.
Advanced course work/education in the particular area of specialization is required.
ASCP certified is required.
Five years of progressive experience as a Medical Technologist
A minimum one year Lead Tech experience with the skills necessary to manage the work of Med Tech's and other level laboratory staff (i.e. assign work priorities, audit work quality, orient and train, evaluate employee performance and other responsibilities assigned in a high volume testing laboratory.
